Website
Structure
Certainly not the sexiest
part of a comprehensive
SEO Services
review but just as important as any other part of this
process. A good audit of the key pages on a site can be very
revealing in helping to drastically improve the overall
performance of a site.
Link Juice goes into tremendous detail during this part of
the site review. We want to look at the site through the
search spider's "eyes" and so we examine each of the most
important web page structures in a spider simulator (home
page, category pages, sub-category pages, item detail pages
and customer service pages).
This gives us great insight into the inner workings of the
current web site
design and tells us what needs to be tweaked and what
if anything needs to be overhauled. Here are a few of the
behind the scene elements we are looking for:
- Site maps
- Robot instructions
- The proper use of <h>
tags
- Header tags
- Alternate Text
- Title Tags
- Meta Descriptions
We also want to see how the
web designer determined the web page structure - what did
they consider the most important elements for the search
spiders (also called web crawler, robots or just bots). We
often find that a web designer that isn't familiar with this
can leave an awful lot of opportunity lying on the table so
to speak.
This portion of the review will also look at things like:
- Proper URL structure
- Canonical issues
- Navigation bars
(typically top navigation, left navigation and footer
links)
- Use of Navigational
bread crumbs
- Proper use of
SEO copywriting
-
Internal Linking
- Internal site search
feature
- Use of anchor text
This information gives us a
great base to begin with and much of our
strategic marketing
plan starts right here. |
